Yesterday (Sat 10/19) a small group of my classmates decided to travel south of Graz (almost to the Slovenian border) to tour the Weinstraße (literally "wine street"). Apparently, this is a well-known area of Styria (the state of Graz) in Austria and there is a tour. We decided to take the train, and followed our fearless leader Hans (not our old dog).

This is Hans! |
We took the train to a tiny village called Ehrenhausen.
From there we decided to walk the Weinstraße!
We walked through the village |
We walked OUT of the village |
We walked alot! |
And we just kept on walking! |
and walking |
and walking |
and walking.... |
Hans "knew" where to take us |

And reading a map is always better when you're wearing Lederhosen! |
But seriously, by the end of the day I think we walked over 10km. I haven't walked that far in a LONG time. However, it was TOTALLY worth it. It was so nice to be out in the countryside and the scenery was GORGEOUS! We only made it to two of the wineries, some were simply stores. Others, called "Buschenschrank" served cold food (breads, meats, and cheese). It was a great day, with great friends, great wine, and great views! Some of my favorite photos are below, but for the Facebook album click
